If necessary (a look from a distant future)

I am not afraid of words.

If necessary, tomorrow I would proclaim myself the prince of the reactionaries.

To me, all these terminologies of right, left, conservatives, aristocracy or democracy, they all are vacuous scholastic terminologies.

Sometimes they clarify, but often they confuse us.

Benito Mussolini, speech at the Senate, 27 November 1922.

About the similarities between Mussolini and Donald Trump, it is very recommended this article on The Atlantic: http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2016/08/american-authoritarianism-under-donald-trump/495263/

Among other things, Ruth Ben-Ghiat writes: “A century before Trump, Benito Mussolini burst onto the Italian political scene, confounding the country’s political establishment with his unorthodox doctrine and tactics and his outsized personality. Mussolini’s rise offers lessons for understanding the Trump phenomenon—and why he was able to disarm much of the American political class.”
